Falcons have most players in the NFL age 30 or over

Just a couple of years ago, the Falcons had one of the youngest rosters in the league. Things change quickly in the NFL, though.

Over the Cap founder Jason Fitzgerald pointed out that Atlanta currently has 18 players on their roster that are least 30 years old — the most of any team.

I believe the Falcons rank 1st in the NFL with 18 players who are 30+ years old. Panthers are 3rd with 13. Panthers tied for 5th in amount of 30+ year olds who played at least 35% of snaps in week 1. Falcons 7th.

Some of Atlanta’s best players fall into this 30+ category, including quarterback Matt Ryan, wide receiver Julio Jones, center Alex Mack and defensive end Adrian Clayborn.

This doesn’t mean the Falcons still don’t have a ton of young talent, however.

With a nucleus made up of linebacker Deion Jones, safety Keanu Neal, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and wide receiver Calvin Ridley, they should stay relevant for at least few more years.

The team will need a better effort from both its young players its and veterans in Week 2 to defeat a talented Eagles team.
