The NFL has released the 2019 preseason schedules, so we now know who the Falcons will be playing and where, if not exactly when. We already knew that Atlanta would be opening the preseason in the Hall of Fame game against the Broncos, adding an extra exhibition game to the schedule.
Here’s the complete schedule for the preseason based on the info we have.
Aug. 1: HOF game vs. Denver Broncos (Canton, OH)
Preseason Week 1: at Miami Dolphins
Preseason Week 2: vs. New York Jets
Preseason Week 3: vs. Washington Redskins
Preseason Week 4: at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Falcons looked sluggish during last year’s preseason campaign. They lost all four of their games and did not play particularly competitive or sharp in any of them.
While that’s generally considered no big deal as it pertains to the regular season, Atlanta didn’t look great out of the gate either. The Falcons lost four of their first five games and ultimately couldn’t climb out of that hole despite a valiant effort.
Perhaps this time around coach Dan Quinn will push his team a little harder in the preseason to make sure they’re on point when September rolls around.
