Falcons FS Ricardo Allen comments on Raheem Morris coaching switch

The Falcons announced some minor coaching changes Monday afternoon, moving assistant/wide receivers coach Raheem Morris to the defensive side of the ball to work with the secondary.

The team moved Dave Brock, Atlanta’s former RBs coach, over to Morris’ former spot. It’s probably too little, too late for the Falcons this season, but Morris can bring a different perspective to a unit that’s struggled over the past five weeks.

Safety Ricardo Allen spoke about Morris switching back over to the defense, saying he supported the move as long as it helps the team win, as tweeted by Kelsey Conway below:

There’s not much the Falcons can do at 1-7, but with some young players on the team, including rookies Jordan Miller and Kendall Sheffield, it’s worth a shot to try and get something out of this failed season.

Miller spoke about Morris on Monday afternoon, also giving the move his stamp of approval:

I like it because I’m a high-energy guy. He’s going to say something, whether you do it right or wrong. He’s going to say something, it’s nice to hear his voice.

Atlanta gets back on the field after a much-needed bye week on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
