The Atlanta Falcons finally broke their 12-game preseason losing streak with a 31-12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. On the back of 255 yards on the ground and three rushing touchdowns, Atlanta made a statement that they will be a team to take seriously in 2019.
The performance of the offensive line helped the Falcons finish with just three quarterback hits allowed and 206 yards on designed run plays. They should be able to lean on their offensive line in 2019 if they can continue to play like this moving forward.
Atlanta’s defense also played lights out, allowing just 13 points all night. The pass defense posted two sacks and eight pass breakups to pair with just three third-down conversions and one fourth down conversion allowed. This unit playing this efficiently in the regular season could lead to some definitive blowouts.
