Falcons fall to No. 20 in Touchdown Wire’s Week 4 Power Rankings

The Atlanta Falcons got behind the Indianapolis Colts early and never recovered in Week 3. Now at 1-2, Dan Quinn’s team will have to figure things out quickly before the season is lost.

Touchdown Wire’s Week 4 power rankings came out and Atlanta predictably fell after its loss in Indianapolis. Doug Farrar only dropped them three spots from last week, but has serious concerns after the loss of safety Keanu Neal to an Achilles injury.

Check out what he had to say about the team in the excerpt below.

The Falcons can’t seem to stop digging holes for themselves. They faced a 20-3 halftime deficit against the Colts on Sunday, and not even three second-half touchdown passes from Matt Ryan could make up the difference as Indianapolis outlasted Atlanta, 27-24. Sadly, the Falcons’ defense now has its own hole to dig out of, and it’s a much bigger blow — elite safety Keanu Neal has a torn Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the season.

The Falcons will reportedly work out veteran safeties George Iloka and T.J. McDonald today. Next up, the Tennessee Titans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Week 4.
