Falcons DT Grady Jarrett donated his Walter Payton money to charity

Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett was the team’s Walter Payton man of the year nominee for this year. As such, he was given a $50,000 reward. Jarrett is literally paying it forward.

According to a report by D. Orlando Ledbetter at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jarrett has donated all of that money to two local charities.

Half of the sum went to the We Need to Read program, and the other half to Ysportz.

Unless Jarrett signs an extension before July 15, he will play the 2019 season under the franchise tag and make $15.2 million. Arthur Blank is confident a deal will get done.
