Falcons DE Takk McKinley says he should have 3-4 sacks already

Coming into the 2019 season, big things were expected out of Falcons third-year pass rusher Takk McKinley.

He’s yet to record a sack in two games, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t played well. Pro Football Focus highlighted McKinley’s Week 2 performance as he consistently got pressure on Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

McKinley himself thinks he could have done better after watching the game film, tweeting out that he should have more sacks.

As a rookie, McKinley had six sacks, and improved on that number during his sophomore season, recording seven sacks in 2018.

Despite McKinley’s frustration, if he continues to get pressure the way he did on Sunday, those sacks will eventually come. His pressure rate is usually relatively high, so it’s only a matter of time. Takk is also putting pressure on himself. During the offseason, McKinley tweeted that he’d cut off his dreadlocks if he doesn’t get at least 10 sacks this year.
