Falcons DB Damontae Kazee talks about hit on Cam Newton that got him ejected

Falcons defensive back Damontae Kazee showed a lot of development last season. Kazee is growing not only as a football player, but he’s also maturing with more time in the league. One of his best teaching moments came early in the 2018 season when he was ejected for a helmet to helmet hit on Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

In addition to a 15-yard penalty and getting kicked out of the game, Kazee earned himself a fine for over $10,000. Looking back, Kazee now admits the hit was wrong and he deserved to be ejected. Here’s the clip from Fox Sports One. Watch.

Kazee mostly played safety last season with both Ricardo Allen and Keanu Neal missing most of the year due to injuries.

Going forward, Kazee is projected to replace Brian Poole as the team’s top slot cornerback.
