Falcons currently on track to land pick No. 5 in 2020 NFL Draft

The Falcons can’t catch a break this season, even when it comes to losing.

After the conclusion of Week 9, they are currently on track to select fifth in the 2020 NFL Draft, with a 1-7 record.

As bad as things have been for them in 2019, there are still two win-less teams — the Bengals and Redskins — and two other one-loss teams — the Dolphins and Jets — that are slated to pick of ahead of Atlanta.

Obviously, a lot can change before now and Week 17. But unless the Falcons win out, which is extremely unlikely, a top draft pick is the best thing that can come out of this disastrous season.

If the team does continue on its current downward spiral and lands a top-five pick, some potential options are DE Chase Young, CB Jeff Okudah, DE A.J. Epenesa, and S Grant Delpit.

Atlanta will look to turn things around against the division-rival New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The team is currently a 11.5-point underdog for its Week 10 matchup, according to Bet MGM.
