Falcons coach Dan Quinn says team must address turnover differential

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw two interceptions and running back Devonta Freeman fumbled in Atlanta’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. It wasn’t just sloppiness on offense that the hurt them, either. A fully healthy defensive unit created zero turnovers and collected only one sack on Minnesota’s quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Coach Dan Quinn said the team needs to address the turnover issue from both sides of the ball in his post-game press conference.

It’s just one game, and it was one of the toughest on Atlanta’s 2019 schedule. So, it’s important to keep that in perspective.

However, losing the turnover differential by three is the kind of mediocrity that got both the Falcons’ offensive and defensive coordinators fired in the offseason and it’s a recipe for losing a lot of games.

Unfortunately, things won’t get any easier next week when the Falcons host the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) in their home opener.
