Falcons coach Dan Quinn on Arthur Blank: ‘You want to dominate for the guy’

It may have taken longer than anyone anticipated but the Falcons never wavered. They signed All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones to a mega-extension one day before start of the 2019 regular season.

It’s been a successful offseason for team owner Arthur Blank, who also saw his franchise lock up two defensive cornerstones in Deion Jones and Grady Jarrett. Head coach Dan Quinn is pleased to say the least.

ESPN’s Vaughn McClure delved into this in his most recent column, portraying a coach that’s more grateful than fearful of his owner’s willingness to put his money where his mouth is.

Quinn said he doesn’t believe Blank’s commitment adds more pressure.

“No, it doesn’t. . . You want to dominate for the guy. You don’t want to feel more pressure. It’s the exact opposite. You want to go 1,000 miles for this guy, like, ‘I would do anything for this person.’ I want success for [Blank] more than anyone else.”

The Falcons will get their first chance to dominate this afternoon in Minnesota when they take on the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.
