Falcons coach Dan Quinn concerned with DeSean Jackson’s big-play ability

You may have thought it was 2009 instead of 2019 after hearing Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson had 154 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Week 1. The 12-year NFL veteran continues to dominate on deep routes and helped Philly win a tough divisional battle last week against the Redskins.

The Falcons should be concerned after last week’s abysmal defensive performance against the Vikings. Head coach Dan Quinn isn’t taking the Eagles or their big-play receiver lightly, though.

Quinn told 92.9 the Game in Atlanta that stopping the Eagles from connecting on those big downfield shots to Jackson will be the key on Sunday.

It’s not a bad idea, either. Look at the damage Jackson has done over his career. Only Jerry Rice has more touchdown catches of 50 or more yards.

Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz is finally back healthy and got off to a great start, throwing for 313 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

If you remember last week, Vikings QB Kirk Cousins only needed ten passes to light up the Falcons secondary, and he’s nowhere near the passer Wentz is.

Getting pressure will be critical for Atlanta, something it failed to do last week.
