Falcons coach Dan Quinn comments on Kaleb McGary’s heart procedure

Falcons fans got quite a scare when first-round pick Kaleb McGary left practice on Tuesday with a reported illness and ended up needing a cardiac ablation procedure the following day.

After Atlanta’s 14-10 loss to the Broncos in Thursday night’s Hall of Fame game, head coach Dan Quinn gave reporters an update on McGary’s condition. Quinn says the team doctors are happy with how it went.

Number one, the doctors were certainly happy about the procedure. . . We’ll have some more updates as we go along. But for the first part of it, they were happy.

The bigger question that Quinn couldn’t or wouldn’t answer was just how long this health issue will keep McGary sidelined for.

We’ll update as we go. . . There is nothing to report. I know they were pleased with the procedure.

The Falcons used pick No. 31 in the first round to grab the former Washington offensive tackle with an eye to start him at right tackle. That will be Ty Sambrailo’s job by default at least until McGary gets back on the field.
