Falcons center Alex Mack’s injury status still up in the air

Falcons center Alex Mack left the game against the Titans in Week 4 with what was reported as an elbow injury. He would later return with a sleeve on his left arm, but his status for next week has yet to be determined.

Head coach Dan Quinn said he would know more when practice resumes on Wednesday, but that Mack will be limited at first if he is out there.

Mack is the Falcons’ best offensive lineman and they can’t afford to lose him. The team has already lost right guard Chris Lindstrom until mid-season at least with a broken foot. Plus, right tackle Kaleb McGary has been fighting health issues going back to the preseason.

After a frustrating 1-3 start, Atlanta has little margin for error going forward. Things will be even tougher if the team doesn’t have its Pro Bowl center.
