Falcons are the NFL’s biggest underdogs heading into Week 2

The Atlanta Falcons were always going to be underdogs when going up against the defending Super Bowl champions, however, their 32-6 loss to the Eagles in Week 1 turned the odds even more in favor of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Currently, the Buccaneers are favored by 12.5 points, the most of any team. So, if you’re feeling lucky and want to burn some cash, placing $100 on the Falcons to win will net you $570 total. (odds via Tipico Sportsbook).

Against the Spread

  • Falcons: -12.5 -112 (Wager $112 to win $100; cash out: $212)

Money Line

  • Falcons: +470 (Wager $100 to win $470; cash out: $570)

Over/Under

  • Over: 51.5 points -115 (Wager $115 to win $100: cash out: $215)
  • Under: 51.5 points -105 (Wager $105 to win $100; cash out: $205)

Where to put your money in Week 2

  • Bet the Over: -115

A season ago, the Falcons and Buccaneers averaged a combined total of 55.6 points per game. This is well over the projected 51.5 for this matchup. The Falcons have a putrid defense and don’t expect Tom Brady to have any trouble moving Tampa Bay’s offense up and down the field.

  • Bet the Over on Falcons total points (19.5): -112

Week 1 was just one game. There shouldn’t be much worry that Arthur Smith can’t get this offense rolling. Alanta put up 27 points in each game against Tampa Bay in 2020.

  • Highest scoring half to be the second half: +107

As the game progresses, the depth of the Falcons’ roster will be a huge detriment when trying to outlast the Buccaneers. A week ago, 17 of the Eagles’ 32 points came in the second half. The last two times these teams met, the Bucs scored a majority of their points after the half — 31 in the first meeting and and 21 points in the second. respectively.
