Falcons are 6.5-point underdogs vs. the Seahawks in Week 8

It may have taken a little longer due to the uncertainty over Matt Ryan’s status, but with the Falcons quarterback returning to practice on Friday, the odds for Sunday’s game have finally come out.

BetMGM has Atlanta as a 6.5-point underdog in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. It goes to show just how bad this team has been that even with Ryan most likely out there, and the team playing at home in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Falcons are still picked to lose by a touchdown.

The over/under for Sunday’s game is 53.5 points. Russell Wilson is leading a high-powered, balanced Seahawks offense. While Matt Ryan is leading a pass-happy unit that is averaging just 68.4 rush yards per game — ranked 29th in the NFL.

The Falcons will be without guard James Carpenter and Ito Smith in this game, meaning it’ll be on Devonta Freeman to keep the pressure off of an injured Ryan.

Seattle’s pass rush hasn’t been great, but as many have pointed out, Atlanta has been a team that opponents use to get their seasons back on track. Meanwhile, the Falcons defense is without two of its four regular starters in the secondary and a complete mess.

Not to mention, Atlanta’s pass rush has been so bad, it makes the Seahawks’  line look like the 2002 Bucs in comparison.

The Falcons will need more than a few things to go right if they hope to end their five-game losing streak this weekend.
