Falcons agree to terms with 2 more 2019 NFL draft picks

Six down, one to go. The Falcons are almost done signing their 2019 NFL draft class. Last week, Atlanta agreed to terms with four of them: defensive end John Cominsky, cornerback Jordan Miller, running back Qadree Ollison and wide receiver Marcus Green.

Today, the team signed two more picks. According to the official team website, offensive tackle Kaleb McGary and cornerback Kendall Sheffield have both signed. That leaves first-round pick Chris Lindstrom as the only selection that has yet to agree to terms.

The Falcons paid a heavy price to get McGary. Intent on securing a fifth-year option, Thomas Dimitroff traded both of Atlanta’s Day 2 picks to the Rams to move up to the No. 31 pick for McGary. Atlanta also moved up for Sheffield in the fourth round, dealing two selections to the Lions to get the No. 111 pick.

McGary is expected to start at right tackle right away, but Sheffield will likely spend most of his rookie season on the bench. Developing as a nickel corner would improve his chances.
