When the Falcons signed both defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and linebacker Deion Jones to contract extensions last week, many were left wondering why wide receiver Julio Jones had yet to sign a new deal.
The All-Pro was asked about his contract status when speaking with the media Wednesday morning after training camp practice. Jones told ESPN that he understands that he cannot sign a new deal until July 27 (Saturday), because that’s the one-year mark since he signed his contract adjustment back in 2018. Watch.
In related news, coach Dan Quinn says Jones is expected to be a full participant at practice in about 10 days to two weeks, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
