'Falcon and Winter Soldier': How many episodes are left in Season 1?

We’ve officially reached the halfway point. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier closed out its first three episodes with a sprint through the fictional city of Madripoor (did you catch that Wolverine Easter egg?) before jetting off for a confrontation with the Flag-Smashers. Along the way, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes joined up with a few familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the form of Baron Zemo and Sharon Carter.

But now that we’re finished with Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 3, how many episodes are left? Here’s everything you need to know as we head into the second half of Marvel’s latest Disney+ show.

👉 Read more at our Falcon and Winter Soldier hub.

How many episodes are in Falcon and the Winter Soldier?

In total, there are six episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

It seems like each episode will run roughly 40 minutes, though it’s possible that runtime could expand slightly in the last few episodes in an attempt to cram in some extra plot.

Either way, now we definitely shouldn’t expect is a 6-hour season. We’ve been through this before with WandaVision, let’s not set our expectations too high all over again. With six episodes total, the cumulative runtime will probably be closer to four hours.

How many episodes of Falcon and the Winter Soldier are out?

The first three episodes of Falcon and Winter Soldier are streaming now on Disney+ with the episodes titles “New World Order” (Episode 1), “The Star-Spangled Man” (Episode 2), and “Power Broker” (Episode 3).

How many episodes of Falcon and the Winter Soldier are left?

With six episodes total and three already released, there are only three more episodes of Falcon and the Winter Soldier left to go.

How many episodes of Falcon and the Winter Soldier are released per week?

Just like with WandaVision and The Mandalorian, Disney is one episode each week. As far as we can tell, Disney has no plans to change this strategy any time soon, though there has been at least one rumor claiming that Marvel’s What If...? could drop all at once when it premieres later in 2021.

How many seasons will Falcon and the Winter Soldier be?

As far as we know, the answer is just one. Marvel is treating these Disney+ shows more like miniseries than regular TV shows. So Falcon and the Winter Soldier will probably lead directly into a movie or even a different miniseries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rather than a Season 2.

As Kevin Feige so often says when it comes to the MCU, anything is possible. Here’s what the Marvel Studios boss revealed at a press conference for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier:

The fun of the MCU is, obviously, all of the crossover that we can do between series, between films. It will always vary based on the story – sometimes it will go into a Season Two, sometimes it will go into a feature and then back into a series. We’ve announced that Ms. Marvel, after her debut on Disney+, will be going into the second Captain Marvel film. But we are thinking of and planning second seasons for some of the upcoming series.
I’ve been at Marvel for too long to say a definite no or definite yes to anything in regards to your question about another season of WandaVision, but some of the shows that we’re about to start filming, we are keeping in mind a structure that would lead into a Season Two and a Season Three in a more direct way than, say, a show like WandaVision which clearly goes into a feature. But it is new. That’s part of the fun, exciting, adrenaline-boosting creativity that we’re able to do, thanks to Disney+, and really to figure out new ways of storytelling. Perhaps someday we’ll chart out five seasons of a show, but really we’re focusing on delivering the best seasons we can one at a time so far.

Depending on how Falcon and the Winter Soldier ends, it feels like this buddy-comedy adventure could be a good candidate for a Season 2. Then again, maybe Marvel should consider following up its current show with Zemo and Sharon Carter instead.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier streams Fridays on Disney+.
