BENGALURU: A 44-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly posing as a constable with Central Crime Branch (CCB) and luring the public with an offer to sell them seized vehicles for a lesser price.
Lourd Nathan worked as a security guard with a private agency. Police said a man alleged that Lourd had approached him a few weeks ago claiming to be a constable. Lourd promised the man he would give him a scooter for a lesser price and collected Rs 17,000 last week. “Lourd told his victim he’s a policeman and there were a huge number of seized vehicles in police stations and ge could get a scooter for him. The man paid Lourd the money and realised he was cheated when he got neither the vehicle nor his money,” a police officer said.
Lourd had cheated another person in Bellandur area and was arrested in November. He was released in December on bail. tnn
