UK playwright Brian Friel was described as the Irish Chekhov. Now his 1979 masterpiece about the fantastic Francis Hardy is brought to the Belvoir stage.
The play, made up of four monologues, tells the story of Francis, his wife Grace and his manager. He’s spent a lifetime travelling, curing people, but not curing everyone. Is he a showman or a shaman? Francis, played by Colin Friels, will have to explain.
