Runner-up in his three starts over hurdles, the Tony Martin trained La Tektor might get punters off to a winning start on the third and final day of the Fairyhouse Easter Festival.
The eight-year-old has done little wrong over hurdles in recent months and gets the nod in the competitive Eat Your Vegetables maiden hurdle.
Last time out, over today’s course and distance, La Tektor failed, on the nod, to 131-rated Discordantly, with well-backed favourite The Gunner Murphy in third.
A reproduction of that sort of form might be enough to see La Tektor and Denis O’Regan get the better of Liz Doyle’s Enjoi Pierji and 125-rated Momus.
Willie Mullins holds the key to the Grade 3 mares chase, running both Camelia De Cotte and Pravalaguna.
And preference is for Paul Townend’s mount Camelia, successful at listed, Grade 3 and Grade 2 level over fences and, hopefully, capable of conceding 5lb to her ruby Walsh-ridden stable-companion. J
Joseph O’Brien runs five in the INH Stallion owners EBF Novice handicap hurdle Series Final.
And the one I like is novice, Choungaya, the mount of J J Slevin. Significantly, mark Walsh will be on board Countister, one of three J P McManus-owned contenders for the €100,000 Rybo handicap hurdle.
This lightly-raced mare made her belated return to action in this year’s county at the Festival and ran a cracker to finish third to Ch’tibello, with one of today’s rivals Mr Adjudicator eighth. And that run gives her excellent prospects today.
