Today’s card at Fairyhouse hinges on a 7.30. a.m. inspection due to the heavy rain which was expected overnight.
Hopefully , the seven-race card will get the go-ahead as it is set to feature some fascinating horses, including classy staying hurdler Bapaume, set to make his chasing bow for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend in the opener.
The champion combination will also be expected to strike with Annamix in the INH Stallion owners Novice Hurdle and Cheltenham runner-up Concertista in the 150th Irish Grand National Mares Maiden Hurdle.
And the Mullins-trained Monkfish, second on his only bumper start, will be fancied for the Christmas Parties @ Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle but might not cope with Gordon Elliott’s Thatsy, whose second to Latest Exhibition was franked by the winner’s fine run in the ‘For Auction’ at Navan yesterday.
