#16 Fairleigh Dickinson

Fairleigh Dickinson is dancing for the sixth time in school history. Five of those six appearances have seen the Knights come into the tournament as a 16 seed, this year included. FDU finished the season with a 20-13 record and earned their spot by beating top-seeded St. Francis PA in the final of the Northeastern Conference tournament. Leading scorer Darnell Edge put up 21 points in the clincher. While Edge will be counted on for production, the Knights have a well-rounded offense with five different players averaging double digits in PPG. History is not on their side as they’ve never won an NCAA postseason game in five times of trying. Can this be their year or will the streak continue?

#16 Prairie View A&M:

It’s been 21 long years since Prairie View A&M made it to March Madness. The Bulldogs finally ended their tournament drought by winning the SWAC tournament as the top seed. It’s been a remarkable year for them as they started the season with a dreadful 1-11 record and rebounded to finish 22-12. A&M will lean heavily on guard Gary Blackston, who leads the team in scoring and rebounding. The senior put up a combined 44 points in the conference tournament and is also among the team leaders in 3-pt FG%. This is only the second-ever appearance for the school in the NCAA tournament.
