Fair Head incident: Search and rescue operation launched near Ballycastle

A search and rescue operation has been launched at Fair Head, close to Ballycastle.

The Fair Head car park has been closed to the public as the emergency services use it to conduct the operation, which is currently ongoing.

Motorists are being advised to stay away from the area so as not to obstruct emergency vehicles accessing the site.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "There is an ongoing multi-agency search and rescue operation at Fair Head near Ballycastle.

"The Fair Head car park has been closed to the public for use by emergency services and police would ask motorists to avoid the area to allow emergency vehicles access to the site.

"There are no further details at present."
