Seeing her name in Ger’s book as a borrower, Yates asks Nora for information about Ger. Nora lies to Yates before he tells Carol of the connection between Nora and Ger.
He says: "We know that Ger Lynch is an illegal money lender, and we know that her customers are vulnerable people."
"And what's this got to do with me?" asks Nora.
"You borrowed money off Ger Lynch, didn't you?" Yates replies.
After the conversation, Nora hastily repays more of her loan to Ger.
Determined to investigate Ger’s link with organised crime, Yates decides not to tell McCabe about Hayley’s connection to Ger but covertly pries Hayley for information.
The drama continues this evening as Melanie is approached by Deegan to act as a translator for a fellow Armenian.
Whilst she is dealing with Mondo’s pessimism at home, Melanie makes the plunge translating for a man accused of fraud, but worries that he’s guilty.
Meanwhile, Juliet scolds Mondo for not being happy for Melanie.
Elsewhere in Carrigstown, there’s more mind games at play later on as Sash plies Dolores with compliments.
When she suspects Sash and Orla are vying for her attention, Dolores decides to play games of her own and has fun letting Orla spoil her.
