Fair City fans at peak excitement as major whodunnit storyline begins after Paul Brennan takes a tumble

Fair City fans are gearing up for a nail biting story line after last night's action packed episode.

Taking queues from the famed episode of 'Who Shot JR?' classic 70s soap Dallas Irish fans will now be puzzling for the answer to 'Who pushed Paul Brennan?'.

Wednesday night's episode saw Paul finally confront his two sons Callum and Oisin who spent the last few weeks making their dad think he was losing his sanity with a series of tricks.

But their plan came crashing down with Paul even going so far as to threaten to get the boys thrown in jail.

Meanwhile Mondo and Pete were also on the receiving end of Paul's tirade.

Soon after, Paul takes to the balcony where he treats himself to a celebratory cigar and whiskey feeling like he's on top of the world.

But his celebrations are short lived as he comes crashing off the balcony and it's anyone guess who pushed him with everyone in Carrigstown a potential suspect.

The only person to witness the dramatic incident was Carol who was standing down below and had just remarked moments earlier than Paul had made a lot of people angry.

Fans have already taken to social media to voice their delight or horror at what happened to Paul as the guessing game kicks off.

One viewer wrote: "It’s going to be a case of who dunnit with who pushes Paul so I'll start the guessing with the invisible man."

Another added: "Oisin definitely pushed Paul off that balcony." To which another replied: "Too obvious, my money is on Callum"

Meanwhile a fourth person said: "Oh my god what's happened to Paul??? #Faircity.... "Hope he's not dead, he's an adorable bad boy."

And another one said: "Ah really wanna know who pushed Paul."

Fair City airs on RTE One on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
