Faint praise for Gabriel Martinelli as Man City ace sticks boot into Ozil, Aubameyang and Pepe

Kevin De Bruyne has discussed the key Arsenal weakness that his Man City side exposed in their 3-0 win on Sunday - and how one young gun is the exception.

City arrived at the Emirates on the back of a defeat at home to Manchester United last time out in the Premier League.

But the Blues established their authority early on in the capital thanks to a brace from De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling's effort in the first half.

Arsenal had 42% of possession and only one shot on target in comparison to City's 58% possession and seven shots on target.

And De Bruyne has since opened up on why his side were allowed so much time during the contest to dictate proceedings, though he has added a caveat on Gabriel Martinelli, who he says is the exception to this particular issue as opposed to the likes of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe

"We saw up front in the videos (that) the attackers they try to press up but when we pass their front four they really don’t help the Arsenal defence," De Bruyne told the press after the game, per Mirror Football.

"So they always stay with four up front, except (Gabriel) Martinelli who comes (back) a little bit more. So we always get spaces somewhere over the pitch.

"I think it’s really difficult for the six defenders to control that because obviously you can come from everywhere on the pitch.

"I think they left some open spaces and we exploited them really well. Obviously, when you’re 3-0 up it makes the game a little bit more easier for us."
