Failed Scots MP George Galloway flogging personalised online videos for £25

Controversial former MP George Galloway is flogging personalised videos to fans online for £25-a-pop.

The 67-year-old has signed up to Thrillz, a UK-based firm offering greetings from its stable of celebrities including Kerry Katona and spoon bender Uri Geller.

Galloway, who recently suffered defeat in the Batley and Spen by-election, is offering a “shout-out package” on its website.

For £25, the politician will record a video message for anyone shelling out the cash.

Users with £40 can purchase the long-time firebrand’s “performance package” where Galloway presumably delivers a larger dose of his oratorical skills.

It’s not the first time that Galloway has switched politics for the world of celebrity.

In 2006, he appeared on Celebrity Big Brother where he infamously mimicked licking milk - while pretending to be a cat - from the hands of actress Rula Lenska.

Thrillz advertises personalised video messages from a range of well-known faces from TV, music, sport, and public life.

Chesney Hawkes, whose scored a number one with The One and Only, Paul Chuckle from the Chuckle Brothers, and strongman Geoff Capes are also on their books.

At £25, he is among the cheaper options for anyone wanting birthday greetings, congratulations for a wedding, or a get well soon message.

Fitness instructor Mr Motivator charges £50 for his shout-out package, ex-world snooker champion Dennis Taylor levies £40, and a impersonator of The A-Team’s Mr T asks for £75.

Galloway, who was born in Dundee, is also far behind Michael Cohen - former attorney to Donald Trump - who charges £100, and Lethal Weapon actor Gary Busey who demands £275.

In May, Galloway, - expelled from Labour in 2003 amid a row over comments made about the Iraq war - failed in his bid to get elected to the Scottish Parliament.

He stood for the pro-UK All for Unity but was snubbed by voters and the party didn’t win a seat.

In July, he was defeated in the the Batley and Spen by-election, this time representing the Workers Party of Britain, with Labour claiming victory.

A Labour source said: “It doesn’t surprise me that Galloway is hawking what little celebrity he has left after so many political failures.

“I’m not sure why anyone would want to pay him £25 for anything, but the real problem may be keeping his birthday messages to the point and not spiralling off into self-serving conspiracies.”

Galloway currently presents The Mother of All Talk Shows on Radio Sputnik and Sputnik on RT UK, media outlets which have been branded propaganda mouthpieces for Vladimir Putin’s Russian regime.

Thrillz founder and CEO Anjan Luthra said: "George Galloway is an influential figure in the British political sphere and, as a fellow Scotsman, I am thrilled to have him on our talent roster at Thrillz.

"He has been a hit with our customers, from happy birthday and good luck messages to requests for George to recreate his Daily Politics Brexit interview.

"With the disruption of in-person events, Thrillz is revolutionizing the way celebrities and creators interact with their fans and political figures are now joining this new digital movement.

"Galloway joins Donald Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen who is also using his spare time to connect with their audience in more meaningful, engaging ways on Thrillz."

Galloway could not be reached for comment last night.
