FAI Cup 2020 draw made as Dundalk to host Waterford in first round

Last season’s beaten finalists Dundalk will host Waterford in the tie of the FAI Cup first round.

The Lilywhites are at home against the Blues who are now managed by former Irish international John Sheridan.

Finn Harps will host Premier Division rivals St Pat’s while Cork City boss Neale Fenn will face his former club Longford Town at Turner’s Cross.

Longford were the only First Division side drawn in the first round with the other eight all receiving byes to the second round.

FAI Cup holders Shamrock Rovers were also among the 13 clubs to receive a bye to that round.

Dates have yet to be scheduled but the early rounds of the famous knockout competition will be played in midweek.

The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all take place in November, once the shortened league season is completed.

There are no non-league teams competing in the FAI Cup this year.

Meanwhile, the fixtures for the curtailed League of Ireland season will be published by the FAI at 6.00pm.
