The FAI has today confirmed the appointment of Jonathan Hill as its new chief executive.
The Englishman succeeds John Delaney as the association’s full-time chief and will start work from November 1.
He will initially operate between London and Dublin because of Covid travel restrictions, before basing himself in Dublin long term.
Gary Owens, the current interim chief executive, will work alongside Hill for a ‘transition period’.
Hill, 57, was group commercial director with the English FA and also commercial director of Wembley stadium.
He also held a variety of other roles in the sports marketing sector, including with IMG and as CEO for the Laureus World Sports Awards.
In a statement today, Hill said: “I’m truly honoured to be appointed to the role of CEO of the FAI.”
And FAI board chairman Roy Barrett said: “Jonathan’s experience in the commercial and football worlds will bring real benefit to the FAI.”
