Facundo Pellistri loan exit from Manchester United confirmed

Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri has joined Deportivo Alaves on loan, both teams have confirmed.

The Uruguayan wide man joined United in the summer from his boyhood team Penarol and has made a handful of Under-23 appearances this season and trained with the first team on occasion.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his staff have made the decision to send Pellstri on loan to the Spanish side until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old will hope to get first team minutes under his belt. He awaits his first team debut but is expected to be a regular on loan at Alaves, who are currently in a relegation battle in La Liga.

Upon signing Pellistri in the summer, Solskjaer told United's in-house media: “Our scouts have followed Facundo for a long time and we believe that he will be a real talent for the long term.

“Whilst we understand it will take time for him to adapt to the English game, he is capable of having an impact with his pace and ability to beat his opponent.”

Amad Diallo is the man who will effectively replace Pellistri at United, having already made his Under-23s debut ahead of his step-up to first team training level, following a January move from Atalanta. The right-winger was signed for an initial £19million, with Pellistri costing £9million up front.
