Facundo Pellistri details what he will offer to Man Utd after Carrington arrival

Facundo Pellistri has detailed what he can offer to Manchester United as he arrived at Carrington.

The Uruguayan signed for the Red Devils on transfer deadline day after the 18-year-old impressed in two seasons with Penarol.

With just two goals in only 37 senior appearances, the forward has been given No.28 and could play a role in the first-team.

And the teenager has told fans what to expect from his style of play when he makes a debut for the Premier League side.

Speaking to United’s official website, Pellistri said: “I’m very excited to sign because Manchester United is one of the best clubs in history. I’m really happy to be here.

“I would describe myself as a fast player who likes to be in touch with the ball and provide assists for my team-mates.

“I’m really excited to link up and to learn from [attacking players like Greenwood, Martial and Rashford].”

After agreeing a £10m fee for Pellistri on the last day of the summer transfer window, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that the club had been monitoring the Uruguayan for several years.

“Our scouts have followed Facundo for a long time and we believe that he will be a real talent for the long term,” Solskjaer said.

"Whilst we understand it will take time for him to adapt to the English game, he is capable of having an impact with his pace and ability to beat his opponent.

“Facundo has the perfect platform at Manchester United to develop and he has all of the technical qualities and the right mentality required to become a top player here.

United almost lost out on Pellistri’s signature to Ligue 1 side Lyon – but the teenager has explained why he chose Old Trafford instead of move to France.
