These are the faces of 52 paedophiles and perverts linked to Merseyside jailed so far this year for shocking sex crimes.
The stomach turning list includes a couple who raped a little boy and offered his mum cash afterwards, a monster who tried to rape a teenager then did rape a gran, and a paedophile whose video of him abusing a girl ended up being seen by her mum.
Judges dealt with a coward who targeted a girl in a nightmare ordeal as she walked home from school, another predator who used Snapchat to groom a child before repeatedly raping her, and a beast who dragged his victim into an alleyway in Liverpool city centre.
Courts heard details of how deviants collected sickening images including truly depraved photos and in one case, even planned to have sex with a 13-year-old girl while her mum watched.
Meanwhile a member of a monstrous gang who tortured and raped a man for hours was finally brought to justice.
But thanks to the courage of victims who found the strength to speak out against their abusers - and in some cases go through the ordeal of giving evidence at trials - these twisted individuals were locked up, meaning our communities are now safer.
Dean Lockley

Dean Lockley dragged a schoolgirl into woodlands and sexually assaulted her in an "unimaginable" and "terrifying" ordeal.
The 30-year-old targeted the teenager as she walked home from school along the Loop Line in Aintree, near Orrell Park, at around 4pm.
The dad-of-one tied and gagged his victim - using her school uniform - stripped her naked and molested her, then claimed he was "sorry".
DNA linked him to the attack, near Helsby Road, on September 21, 2020, but Lockley, of no fixed address, denied any involvement.
Only after she identified him in a parade did he admit false imprisonment, sexual assault and causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
Lockley, from the Aintree area, had no previous convictions for sexual offences, but a record for violence including robberies and assault.
The cowardly beast said he was too ashamed to attend his sentencing, because he didn't want to listen to his horrific crimes laid bare.
He was sentenced in his absence, when Judge David Aubrey, QC, said his victim accepted she would die after he threatened to kill her.
Lockley was jailed for 12 years, with an extended five years on licence.
Steff Jones

Steff Jones had sexual activity with a schoolgirl and was caught with indecent images of another child.
Police said the "dangerous" 19-year-old, of Marie Curie Avenue, Netherton, preyed on two teenage victims.
He was arrested on October 23, 2020, after one of the girls found the courage to report him to the police.
Jones admitted sexual activity with a child and possessing indecent images of another girl.
He was jailed for four years.
Akash Sondhi

Akash Sondhi hacked into nearly 600 Snapchat accounts to force girls and women to send him "intimate images".
The 27-year-old blackmailed his victims by threatening to expose existing sexual photos to their friends and family.
He targeted 573 people aged between 16 and 25 - including seven victims from Merseyside - from 2015 to 2020.
His victims included girls and women across the UK and around the globe, including Australia, Hong Kong and Romania.
But the pervert's home in Hedingham Road, Chafford Hundred, Grays, Essex was raided by police on March 19, 2020.
Sondhi admitted a total of 65 offences including hacking, blackmail, and voyeurism.
He was jailed for 11 years.
Gareth Edwards
Sex offender Gareth Edwards was jailed but didn't even see the inside of a cell before a judge bailed him.
He was handed a 16-week prison sentence after going to Center Parcs with a woman he was seeing and her three children.
The 30-year-old had also stayed over at her home on weekends, without telling her that he was a convicted sex offender.
Edwards, of St Monica's Drive, Netherton, was previously sentenced in 2016 for inciting a female under 16 to engage in sexual activity.
He was handed a 16-week jail sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for seven years.
However, he admitted two breaches of his notification requirements, after meeting the woman online and worming his way into her family's home in 2019, without revealing his disturbing past.
A district judge locked him up at Liverpool Magistrates' Court, but immediately released him on bail, with a condition of residence, pending an appeal against the conviction.
However, a week later he abandoned his appeal and was sent to jail.
John Harrington
Pervert pensioner John Harrington followed two young children in Lidl as he exposed himself and performed a lewd act.
The children were doing Christmas shopping with their mum at the Southport supermarket when he followed them on an electric mobility scooter and looked the little girl "up and down" with his genitals exposed.
Their mum said the family were left "traumatised" and the young boy was "afraid the man was going to get him" after the 2019 incident.
The 75-year-old exposed himself to an 18-year-old student the next day at a bus stop and, after he was charged for those crimes, performed a sex act in front of an elderly person with dementia at a care home.
The creep had waited for a previous suspended sentence to expire before finding his victims and told police he "done it because he could".
Harrington, of Albert Road, Southport, admitted two counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), imposed following a previous exposure, and three counts of exposure. He was jailed for eight months.
Merseyside Police said they did not have his mugshot as he attended a voluntary interview.
John Phillips

Predatory rapist John Phillips, who targeted children as young as three, was dragged back to court after a new victim came forward.
The paedophile groomed his victims by showering them with gifts and money, but also used violence and threats to keep them quiet.
He was previously locked up for 22 years in 2018, after being convicted of raping and sexually assaulting eight children.
But another man, who was repeatedly assaulted and raped by Phillips from the ages of three until around 14, did not feel able to come forward until after that case concluded.
Phillips was re-investigated by Cheshire Police and charged with nine counts of rape, some of which incorporated multiple incidents.
The now 50-year-old also faced one count of attempted rape, six counts of indecent assault, and two counts of indecency with a child.
Phillips, who lived in Winsford at the time of his first arrest, but who also has links with Widnes and Runcorn, admitted all of the offences.
He was handed a further seven years in jail - taking the total to 29 - of which he must serve at least two thirds behind bars.
Matthew Gomez

Matthew Gomez groomed a girl on Snapchat before meeting in woods near her home to sexually abuse her.
The then 20-year-old pretended to be 16 when he targeted two 13-year-old victims on the social media platform.
The paedophile sent the girls disgusting images of himself and asked them to provide him with sexual photos in return.
The now 23-year-old, of Crabtree Close, Netherley, secretly recorded photos of the children on his phone by using an iPad.
He later met up with one girl in Widnes, filmed her on his phone performing a sex act on him, then repeatedly asked for sex.
But when she told him to stop because he was hurting her, Gomez called her a "d***head" and as he walked away, revealed that he had recorded her.
Gomez admitted three counts of possessing indecent images of children, featuring girls he had filmed on Snapchat, aged as young as eight.
He denied any other wrongdoing, but was found guilty after a trial of five sexual offences in respect of one 13-year-old girl, and two sexual offences in respect of a second girl, also aged 13.
Gomez was jailed for six and a half years.
Olaf Raetzel

Teacher and university worker Olaf Raetzel was finally jailed five years after being caught with child sex abuse videos.
The 51-year-old was arrested in Ormskirk in May 2015, but failed to turn up for a police interview and fled abroad to Ireland.
He started a new life in Dublin where, despite his perverted past, he worked as a content moderator for a social media giant.
Raetzel was detained again last September on a European Arrest Warrant and extradited back to the UK to face justice over 21 sick files.
More than five years on from a police raid at his West Lancashire home, he admitted three counts of possessing indecent images of children.
The theoretical physics graduate worked as a teacher before becoming a learning technology development officer at Edge Hill University.
The German national, now of no fixed address, was jailed for five months.
Robert Murray
Robert Murray took advantage of two teenage boys while he worked at a children's home in the 1970s.
He 'breached the trust' of his victims while he was employed at the home, abusing the boys on a number of occasions.
The 76-year-old was found guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault after putting his victims through the ordeal of a trial.
Jurors returned unanimous verdicts against the paedophile, of Harrismith Road in Fazakerley.
Murray was jailed for 11 years.
Jason Hall

Liverpool University archaeologist Jason Hall tried to arrange sex with a 13-year-old girl while her mum watched.
The 50-year-old discussed how he wanted to molest the girl and even took a train to Chester to abuse the child.
But neither the woman nor her daughter were real and he was instead met by police waiting outside the station.
Officers searched his rucksack and found a pack of condoms and an Easter egg he bought for his intended victim.
When they searched his Greenbank Road, Mossley Hill home, police discovered more than 2,000 indecent images of children.
Hall, who had no previous convictions, was caught out by decoy undercover officers on an adult website from March to May 2018.
He admitted arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence, attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity, attempting to cause a child to look at an image of sexual activity, three counts of downloading indecent images and possessing extreme porn.
Hall was jailed for two years and eight months.
David Moriarty
David Moriarty failed to comply with the requirements of the Sex Offenders Register.
The pervert was placed on the register for seven years after he was jailed for exposure in October 2015.
One of the terms of the order was that the 69-year-old should notify police of any change of address within three days.
But he repeatedly breached the terms of the register, most recently in October of last year, when he failed to notify police he was of no fixed address, after being released from prison for a drug offence.
The court heard he had "an appalling record of compliance with the order" having failed to follow its requirements eight times.
Moriarty, who has 44 previous convictions for 81 offences, was jailed for 18 weeks.
Benjamin Goodrum

Benjamin Goodrum repeatedly raped a girl after grooming her over WhatsApp.
The 22-year-old used his vulnerable victim to satisfy his twisted desires then threatened her to stay quiet.
But the "horrendous" abuse came to light when her parents found sick messages from him on her phone.
These messages included a request from Goodrum, of Seacombe, Wirral, to see a picture of the child's bra.
The victim's mum later confronted Goodrum, who claimed he had twice touched her daughter inappropriately.
However, when police interviewed the victim, she revealed Goodrum carried out "a campaign of sexual abuse".
Goodrum, of previous good character, asked the child for naked pictures and sent her a photo of his penis and a video of him performing a sex act.
She agreed to send him a photo of herself in her bra, but then tried to ignore his messages, only for Goodrum to continue to pester her, until he molested and raped her on multiple occasions.
Goodrum admitted three counts of rape, three counts of attempted rape, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, three counts of sexual assault of a child, four counts of assault by penetration and one count of sexual activity with a child.
He was jailed for 10 years, with an extended one year on licence, as "an offender of particular concern".
Fartam Bassiri

Fartam Bassiri was caught with child and animal abuse images at his family's home which he sent across Europe.
One of three videos of child rape sent by the dad-of-three involved two boys engaged in a sexual act with a donkey.
Police found 30 indecent images of children on Bassiri's laptop when they raided his home in Warrington in December 2018.
The 46-year-old, of Keyes Close, Birchwood, also had two still images of extreme pornography involving animals and six videos.
Bassiri, who had no previous convictions, admitted three counts of downloading, three counts of distributing and one count of possessing indecent images of children. He also pleaded guilty to possessing extreme pornographic images.
However, he claimed he didn't have a sexual interest in children and shared the sickening files out of "disgust".
But a judge said he didn't believe his excuses and jailed him for 20 months.
Stephen Thomas
Stephen Thomas embarked on a repulsive campaign of abuse against a little girl.
The paedophile, of Straker Avenue, Ellesmere Port, subjected a seven-year-old child to sickening abuse.
When police were informed, officers arrested the 29-year-old and seized his electronic devices, which contained child sex abuse images.
Police said his abuse left both the victim and her family distraught, but callous Thomas forced them to relive their ordeals during a trial.
He was found guilty of three counts of sexual touching of a child and two counts of producing indecent images of children.
Thomas was jailed for eight and a half years.
Robert Gardener
A little girl's dad caught Robert Gardener abusing his daughter only for the pervert to claim it was her fault.
The paedophile twice targeted the child but "covered up" the first incident by suggesting he was "just playing".
The 64-year-old predator's lies came crashing down when the victim's father saw the sick abuse for himself.
However, Gardener, of Rocastle Close, Kensington, then had the gall to claim that the child instigated it.
Gardener pleaded guilty to two counts of causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The child molester, who had no previous convictions, was jailed for four years.
Dhanji Punja
Dhanji Punja dragged his victim from a city centre street and towards a secluded alley so he could sexually assault her.
The 42-year-old claimed he only wanted to kiss his victim, but a judge did not believe him and ruled he had intended to sexually assault her.
Punja preyed on the lone woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, as she walked on Lord Street on July 12 last year.
He grabbed her and forced her across towards Dorans Lane, calling her a "f****** b****", and only letting go when faced with three security guards.
Liverpool Crown Court heard he had previously sexually assaulted a woman on a train and lay on a shop floor to look up a woman's skirt.
Punja, of Stanley Street, Liverpool city centre, admitted kidnap and kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence and was jailed for five years.
Paul Mannion
Paul Mannion raped a young boy and offered him 'rewards' like ice cream or 50p to stay silent about the horrifying abuse.
The 63-year-old, from Warrington, was jailed for eight years for the campaign of vile abuse, which took place in Widnes in the 1970s.
His victim described certain types of abuse happening "regularly" and on at least 10 occasions each - all while he was under the age of 10.
Mannion had pleaded guilty to eight counts. including sexual assault, inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and one of rape.
David Bradbury and William Gamble
A couple who raped a little boy offered his mum cash afterwards.
David Bradbury, 55, would film the horrific abuse performed by William Gamble, 65, before offering to pay the little boy's mum £30.
Their sickening acts were only discovered after they uploaded an image of child abuse, not involving the same boy, to Facebook.
When police raided their St Helens home they discovered the horrific pictures and videos, in which Bradbury would encourage Gamble as he abused the child.
They also found toys, sweets and games they would use to groom the boy.
Judge Rachel Smith said: "You embarked on a course of grooming and sexually abusive behaviour."
The court heard the couple "exploited" the boy and groomed him before Gamble would commit "physical acts" of abuse while Bradbury would film them, sometimes engaging in physical abuse.
Both Gamble and Bradbury were arrested on October 26 last year after the true extent of their crimes had been discovered when an indecent image, not of this child, was uploaded to Facebook.
In total officers found 14 category A images, which are the most serious and include child rape, four category B images and three category C images, on devices found at the men's home on Pigot Street, many of which were images of the boy they exploited.
Gamble and Bradbury both admitted four counts of rape, two sexual assaults and two assaults by penetration, plus the taking of indecent videos associated to each act.
Judge Smith said both Bradbury and Gamble were "dangerous" offenders and jailed each of them for 16 years, with an extended one year on licence.
Cecil Thorn
Cecil Thorn, who molested a little girl, was extradited from New Zealand to face justice but refused to say a single word.
The 48-year-old has exercised a "vigil of silence" ever since he stepped off a plane in February last year.
That included not saying anything in his defence at a trial when the brave victim described how he repeatedly abused her.
Thorn, from Wirral, was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault and three counts of causing or inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity at a trial last month.
The court heard this was the second time he has been convicted of molesting a child, after previously being jailed for eight years in 2013 for similar offences, also in Wirral.
Thorn, formerly of Wirral but now of Favona Road, Auckland, was jailed for 10 years, with an extended one year on licence.
This means he will spend at least five years in prison, before he can apply for parole.
Adam Connolly

Adam Connolly sexually assaulted two teenage girls and filmed himself putting his hands around a third girl's throat.
The 30-year-old groped the first victim below her top while she slept and when she woke claimed that he "thought she liked it".
The following year, Connolly covered the face of a second girl and ran his hand over her, before asking if she "wanted a cuddle".
When arrested, Connolly, of Frederick Street, Widnes, claimed the girls were lying.
But his phone revealed he had been looking at pictures of his second victim on the day of the assault and also saved pictures of the first girl.
He also had an indecent video of a third girl, which showed him "placing his hands around her neck and appearing to strangle her".
The predator later admitted two counts of sexual assault and one count of making a Category A indecent video of a child.
Connolly, who had two previous convictions for carrying weapons, was jailed for eight years.
Adam Syers
Adam Syers used the popular children's video game Fortnite to try to groom boys.
The paedophile previously filmed a toddler and made vile sexual comments before posting the video on Facebook.
The 23-year-old - who recorded the sick clip from the window of his former home in Warrington - walked free from court last September.
But within hours of being spared jail on September 2, 2020, he was back online, trying to snare children playing Fortnite and Roblox on Xbox.
Using the username JuicyGamer, he let a 12-year-old boy spend £200 on his credit card and got the child to send a photo of himself in shorts.
He then targeted a seven-year-old boy, asking him whether he wanted to go on a date with him and be his boyfriend, in a series of sick texts.
Syers, of Tully Avenue, Newton-le-Willows, also sent vile messages to a third unidentified boy - thought to be under 11 - and had his photo.
He admitted three counts of breaching his SHPO, failing to comply with notification requirements and breaching his suspended sentence.
Syers has a previous conviction for sexual assault on a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The pervert, who has ADHD, autism, learning and speech difficulties, was jailed for two years and eight months.
Jordan Duckworth
Jordan Duckworth who once tried to rape a boy and girl was caught worming his way into a child's home.
The paedophile was locked up for 30 months for two attempted rapes when he was aged just 17 in January 2011.
He has been on the Sex Offenders Register and subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) ever since.
The order prevented Duckworth from contacting any child under 16 without the written approval of social services.
Social services attended a woman's home in Wavertree on February 15 for a "risk assessment" and "welfare check".
She was there with her 13-year-old son, but so was Duckworth, 27, who "lied initially about who he was", then fled.
Duckworth, of Needham Road, Kensington, admitted the breach, having breached the SOPO twice previously in 2017.
He was jailed for 20 months and given a new 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, an updated version of the SOPO.
Trevor Griffiths
Trevor Griffiths offered a '14-year-old boy' a trip to McDonald's in exchange for a seedy hotel stay.
The grandad-of-24 wanted to take the child to the cinema and planned on sexually abusing him in a hotel in Belfast.
The 61-year-old started speaking to 'Mark' on Chatiw in 2019, but didn't realise it was an undercover police officer.
Griffiths described wanting to 'kiss and cuddle' the 'boy', before they would perform sex acts on each other.
When officers raided his home they discovered his vile collection of child sex abuse images.
They found 63 sick images during the search at his property in Ajax Avenue in Orford, Warrington, on April 30, 2019.
Griffiths, who had no previous convictions, admitted attempting to engage in sexual activity with a boy, failing to comply with notification requirements, possessing indecent images of children and extreme pornography, and three counts of downloading indecent images.
He was jailed for 20 months.
David Cadman

David Cadman who once filmed a girl undressing at a beach was sentenced for downloading child rape photos.
The 65-year-old was arrested after recording the nine-year-old, who was with her parents at New Brighton beach, last August.
He was jailed for 16 months for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) in relation to the video in November 2020.
But he was back in court to be sentenced for keeping a twisted collection of pictures, including 20 images of children being raped.
Cadman, of Espin Street, Walton, admitted three counts of downloading and one count of possessing indecent images of children.
However, while he hadn't been charged over those images by the time of his sentencing last year, Judge Anil Murray said he had previously taken them into account.
Judge Murray said Cadman was due to be released in two weeks' time and, having already taken the photos into account, he "ought not pass a sentence that would lengthen the defendant's stay in prison", so jailed him for 28 days.
James Farquhar
Convicted rapist James Farquhar twice went on foreign holidays including to the Philippines without telling the police.
Farquhar, who served a 12-year prison sentence imposed in 2005 for repeatedly raping a teenage girl, was required to tell the police if he applied for a passport or went abroad under the terms of the Sex Offenders Register.
But he applied for a passport in November 2019 and the following March he flew to the Philippines for a month's holiday.
The 62-year-old's offender manager was told about the jaunt on his return and enquiries began into his passport acquisition.
However, he was not interviewed by police until November 2020 - by which time he had also spent a week on the Greek island of Cos a few weeks earlier.
Farquhar, of Ford Lane, Litherland, but formerly of Southport, admitted three offences of breaching the Sex Offender Register requirements.
He was jailed for nine months.
Matthew Lawton
A mum was sent a video of a paedophile having sex with her daughter after he groomed her over Snapchat.
Matthew Lawton preyed on two teenage girls and lured them with offers of cigarettes, alcohol and cannabis.
The then 29-year-old lied that he was 19 to trick the children, aged 14 and 13, into meeting for sex.
Under UK law - while it is illegal to engage in sexual activity with anyone under 16 - consensual sex is not considered rape if the child is 13 or older.
Lawton, of Milton Road, Widnes, pestered the two victims to send him intimate photos and filmed the 14-year-old - aka Girl A - having sex with him.
The "monster" used the clip to blackmail her into further abuse - including a rape after he held a knife to her throat - when she tried to stop seeing him.
However, when he posted the clip on a Snapchat account called "slags", not only was it sent to her mum, but he was caught thanks to his distinctive tattoos.
Lawton, now 30, was found guilty after a trial of 19 sexual offences, including multiple counts of rape against Girl A.
His past convictions include inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, when he blinded a dad in one eye, who had intervened to stop him hitting a girl.
Lawton was jailed for 15 years, with an extended four years on licence.
Wayne Collins
Wayne Collins was caught sending sexual photos to two 'girls' but blamed his innocent brothers.
The paedophile thought he was chatting to children when he discussed sex and sent naked pictures of himself online.
In reality both "Bella", 13, and 12-year-old "Jess" - who he met on Kik Messenger - were undercover police officers.
Police raided the 29-year-old's home in Belmont Road, Anfield and seized his phone, containing indecent images of children and his collection of "d*** pics".
The pervert then tried to worm his way out of trouble by claiming his brothers had used the device, but police spoke to them and soon realised that wasn't true.
Collins, who had no previous convictions, admitted downloading and possessing indecent images of a child, two counts of attempting to sexually communicate with a child, two counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of attempting to cause a child to look at an image of a person engaging in sexual activity.
He was jailed for 20 months.
Paul Coulthwaite
Paul Coulthwaite took baby wipes and Mini Eggs with him for a '12-year-old girl' he planned to meet at McDonald's.
He had called the child "sexy" and said he wanted them to meet in secret, planning to lure her away from her home.
But the 55-year-old didn't get to give the girl the mint Aero chocolate and WKD he bought her because he was greeted by police who arrested him.
A covert officer had pretended to be "Paige" during sickening online conversations on Chat Avenue between January 7 and January 19 this year.
Between January 8 and February 10 in the same year Coulthwaite also spoke with what he thought was a 12-year-old girl called Rebecca.
Again this was an undercover officer, who Coulthwaite, of Haydock Street, Newton-le-Willows, tried to meet in Preston on February 12.
Coulthwaite, who had no previous convictions, admitted two counts of sexual communication with a child, attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and meeting a child following sexual grooming.
He was jailed for three years.
Adam Whitfield
Adam Whitfield kept "depraved" rape videos of crying babies.
The videos in his sickening collection were described by a judge as something "which would strike any normal person as disgusting ".
Another 16 second video showed a three-month-old baby being raped. Other scenes were too graphic to even be described.
The 26-year-old had 30 videos of children being raped on his phone and computer - which were discovered when his mum called police.
Whitfield, of Alder Street, Newton-Le-Willows, had 32 indecent images, 30 of which were Category A videos, downloaded over three years.
The paedophile, who had no previous convictions, was jailed for eight months.
John Hamilton
John Hamilton caught with child rape photos said he was trying to change by learning the guitar and listening to podcasts.
The paedophile was jailed for two years in 2011 for possessing, downloading and distributing indecent images of children.
The then 27-year-old, from Widnes, was told to sign on the Sex Offenders Register and hit with a 10-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
That prevented him possessing a photo of any child under 16, unless they were a family member and he had the permission of their parent or guardian.
But when Hamilton rang police to tell them he had a new mobile phone in November 2019, officers discovered 1,205 photos of children on his old device.
And the pervert - now living in Liverpool's historic Gambier Terrance in the Georgian Quarter - confessed to downloading thousands of sickening files.
Hamilton, now 37, had 515 indecent images of children and a further 690 non-indecent images of children under 16.
He admitted breaching his SOPO and one count of possessing and three counts of downloading indecent images of children.
Hamilton was jailed for 18 months.
Richard Chipchase

A maths teacher groomed and sexually exploited a vulnerable schoolgirl during a sickening campaign of manipulation.
Richard Chipchase once locked his victim in a storeroom when she refused to hug him and tried to win her over with cigarettes, McDonald's meals and car rides.
It was during one of those lifts that he sexually assaulted her.
The dad-of-one abused his position to target the girl while he was head of maths at Woodchurch High in Birkenhead.
His abuse left the child suffering with her mental health, affected her relationship with her parents, and impacted on her grades.
Chipchase's campaign came to end when concerns were raised about inappropriate behaviour by him towards another schoolgirl.
The 55-year-old, of Welford Avenue in Prenton, admitted four charges of sexual activity with a child.
He was jailed for two years and three months.
Stephen Rafferty
Serial rapist Stephen Rafferty forced girls to pose for semi-naked pictures during his catalogue of abuse against them.
The now 27-year-old committed abhorrent acts against three children, who were all aged under 14 at the time.
When one girl bit the vile paedophile, he punched her and called her "Satan's child", swearing her to silence.
He was convicted by a jury of 13 sexual offences against the children, including nine counts of rape.
Rafferty had previously admitted six counts of sexual assault against the victims.
The court heard Rafferty was previously tried and found not guilty of sexual offences when he was a child.
Judge David Swinnerton said: "I mention it because as a result you knew it was very wrong to commit sexual offences."
Rafferty, of Russell Road, Mossley Hill, admitted six counts of sexual assault against a child and was convicted following a trial on January 11 of two counts of assault by penetration of a child, nine counts of rape of a child and two counts of taking indecent photographs of a child.
Judge Swinnerton said Rafferty was a "dangerous" offender and jailed him for 20 years, with an extended five years on licence.
John Smith
John Smith used Snapchat to groom a young teenage boy before abusing him.
The paedophile, previously a junior football coach, was jailed in 2019 for using Snapchat to send pictures of his penis to boys.
But the 24-year-old, from Speke, was back in court after using the app again to target a child before grooming and abusing him.
Smith was previously convicted in March 2019 of sexual communication with three boys, for which he was jailed for 18 months and ordered to adhere to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which he breached by committing the new offences.
The pervert, formerly of School Way, admitted four counts of sexual activity with a child, meeting a child following sexual grooming, sexual communication with a child, and breaching a SHPO.
He was jailed for four and a half years, with an extended three years on licence.
David Whiteside
David Whiteside spent his life on Liverpool's streets after committed horrific acts of sexual abuse against a young girl.
The 36-year-old raped the child nine times and committed five other sexually abusive acts against her in Kirkby.
Whiteside, of Prescot Road, Old Swan, then denied his crimes in court, forcing the woman to relive his monstrous actions in a trial.
His victim said she couldn't even go into Liverpool city centre, where she knew he begged, out of fears of bumping into him.
Whiteside was found guilty after a trial of nine counts of rape of a child, four counts of sexually assaulting a girl and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
A judge said Whiteside was an offender of "particular concern" and jailed him for 13 years and nine months, with an extended one year on licence.
Stephen Lewis
Stephen Lewis warned a girl "don't tell anyone" after sexually abusing her before also molesting her friend.
The paedophile carried out vile acts on two young girls and forced one of them to perform sex acts on him.
After discovering they had both suffered abuse at the time, the two victims wrote to Jackie magazine to ask for advice.
But when one of their parents found out, they accused the girls of lying and the abuse went unreported for decades.
One of the victims spoke out in 2019 and Lewis, of Woodchurch Road, Prenton, admitted six counts of indecent assault and two counts of indecency with a child.
A judge said his sentencing powers were limited because sentencing powers at the time the offences were committed, which he had to stick to, were very different to how they are today.
Lewis was jailed for four years.
Police said no mugshot was taken of Lewis when he attended for a voluntary interview.
Ian Kaufman
Paedophile football coach Ian Kaufman catfished a girl on Snapchat by pretending to be a 17-year-old boy.
The 48-year-old sent the 16-year-old pictures he had taken from the internet so he could groom her and also posted presents.
The vile pervert would then use software to save videos and pictures the Scottish girl sent him on Snapchat in February 2020.
When police raided his home, they discovered Kaufman kept other child sex abuse images and cartoons of children being raped.
One of the disgusting images involved a girl as young as two.
Kaufman, formerly of East Dam Wood Road, Speke, admitted three counts of possessing indecent images of children, possessing extreme porn, attempting to take indecent photographs of a child and making indecent images of a child.
He was jailed for two years and eight months.
John Merritt
John Merritt who raped two boys as a teenager dramatically collapsed in the dock when jailed.
The 60-year-old, of Leathers Lane, Halewood, denied sexually abusing the children more than four decades ago.
But at the age of 14 or 15, when going by the name Walter Merritt, he raped his victims in Belle Vale and Netherley.
Merritt offered chocolate to Boy A, before inviting him into his house and raping him in a bathroom and a nearby field.
He also raped Boy B in the bathroom, pouncing after his mum invited the disadvantaged little boy in for tea and cake.
Boy B described how the abuse "destroyed" his life and even landed him in jail, after he stole to buy drugs to block out the horror.
The dad-of-four - who has past convictions for violence, carrying a weapon and a racist incident - carried out the attacks in the 1970s.
Merritt was convicted of three counts of a sexual offence, which would now be classed as rape after a trial in March.
He was jailed for eight years.
Paul Pickerill

Cyber pervert Paul Pickerill who was snared in an online sting told a '13-year-old girl' she was "a young woman now and ready for sex".
However, the 'child' was in fact an adult from the paedophile hunter group Net Justice.
The 65-year-old, of Lockgate West, Windmill Hill, Runcorn, admitted attempting to incite a child aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity and attempting to engage a child in sexual communication.
The charges related to sick conversations he had throughout March, when he pretended to be 55 and sent the supposed girl indecent pictures and videos of himself.
He was jailed for 20 months.
Simon Fitzgerald
Simon Fitzgerald was jailed for sexually abusing a teenage girl and then threatening to "burn her house".
The 29-year-old, of Whitford Road, Birkenhead, originally denied assaulting the victim, who was under 16.
After being released by police, Fitzgerald then went to the victim's home and shouted through her window.
On another occasion, the paedophile was seen trying to get into her house in the early hours of the morning.
He was spotted again later, when the victim's mum found an empty petrol can outside her front door in Bury.
She believed it had been left as a "warning" by the convicted robber, who had threatened to "burn her house".
He finally pleaded guilty ahead of a trial to causing a child to engage in sexual activity and witness intimidation.
Fitzgerald was jailed for four years and eight months.
Greater Manchester Police said it was unable to provide his mugshot.
Lee Monaghan
Lee Monaghan who molested and photographed a sleeping friend had his arm snapped in "retribution".
The 48-year-old pervert targeted the woman, who was in her 20s, after she had earlier come to his aid.
She woke to find him sexually assaulting her, when he brazenly claimed he thought she had consented.
But after he confessed in texts the next day and begged for forgiveness, the victim's sister and others went to his home.
Monaghan suffered a broken arm, which both his own lawyer and a judge remarked many people would say he "deserved".
The drink and drug fuelled attack happened at Monaghan's home in Smollett Street, Bootle late one night in 2017.
Monaghan, of Linacre Road, Litherland, admitted assault by penetration and sexual assault.
He was jailed for 18 months.
Philip Jones

Philip Jones raped a little girl who had just been sick when he was pretending to comfort her.
He was previously branded a "danger to women" after he made thousands of searches on internet rape sites, then spiked a victim's drink.
The former soldier was caught by a doorman at a Wirral pub putting powder into a woman's drink so he could sexually assault her in 2013.
The paedophile, who also downloaded child sex abuse images, was jailed for five years, with an extended three years on licence, in 2014.
Last December he was sent back to jail for hiding a mobile phone from police, after secretly working as a maintenance man in family homes.
But this week it emerged that the 59-year-old had also raped and molested a little girl prior to his arrest in 2013.
That abuse only came to light when the child revealed last May that she had been living with the trauma for nearly a decade.
Jones, of Poulton Road, Seacombe, admitted two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
He was jailed for 13 and a half years, with an extended five years on licence.
Mark Jacobson
Mark Jacobson raped a child and forced them to watch sexual acts.
The 44-year-old, of Washington Parade, Bootle, was found guilty after a trial of 16 counts of sexual offences.
They included two counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape and multiple counts of sexual activity with a child, causing a child to watch a sexual act and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
Jacobson was jailed for 16 years.
Speaking after the case, Detective Constable Lucy Emmett, of Merseyside Police, said: “Jacobson is a dangerous individual and he will now spend a significant amount of time behind bars where he can no longer pose a risk to children."
Paul Long

Paul Long slapped and groped the bottoms of two girls while working as a security guard at a fairground.
The former doorman was employed at a temporary funfair when it came to Birkenhead Road in Seacombe.
But the "large and physically imposing" 59-year-old preyed on two children in separate incidents on the same day.
He slapped the bottom of a 15-year-old girl while giving her first aid, then laughed in her face and followed after her.
Long then trapped a second girl, 14, on a Waltzer ride and grabbed her bottom, before squaring up to her dad when he arrived.
The now 61-year-old, of Huddleston Close, Woodchurch, Birkenhead, struck twice on the evening of Thursday, March 28, 2019.
He was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault after a trial, when the girls had to go through the ordeal of giving evidence.
Long was previously handed a community order in January 2017 for causing death by careless driving.
He was jailed for eight months for the sex attacks.
Aiden Peel

Aiden Peel filmed a disgusting toilet video of a woman on his phone but it was discovered by his girlfriend.
Peel downloaded a Secret Camera Recorder app and placed his mobile in a bathroom to capture an unsuspecting victim.
The 24-year-old recorded the woman going to the toilet, undressing until she was naked for a shower, then towelling herself dry.
But the sick voyeur also inadvertently filmed himself setting up the covert device on a sink and returning afterwards to collect it.
Peel later claimed that he downloaded the app after being "inspired" by a YouTube video and thinking it would be good for "pranks".
However, he kept the footage for five or six weeks, until it was "discovered by chance" by his girlfriend who contacted the police.
Peel, of Mersey Road, Aigburth, was found guilty of voyeurism after a trial.
He was jailed for nine months.
Edward Stanton

Edward Stanton was convicted of sexually abusing an eighth victim at a hellish children's home in Formby.
The paedophile raped and molested youngsters in his care at the infamous St Vincent's home from 1976 to 1995.
The former house master was jailed for 13 years in 1996 for sexual offences committed against seven boys, aged between 10 and 13.
The 69-year-old was back in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court this week after being found guilty of two more sex attacks last month against an eighth victim.
They related to a 13-year-old boy, who he twice indecently assaulted in the early 1980s, leaving the victim with psychological scars.
Stanton, formerly of Kirkdale, but now of Earle Road, Wavertree, had claimed someone else was responsible for the abuse.
But a jury was sure it was him who left the child suffering from depression, relationship problems and feelings of shame.
Stanton was jailed for three and a half years.
Alex Slocombe
Alex Slocombe sexually assaulted two women while they slept.
The 23-year-old predator, from Warrington, molested his victims on separate occasions in 2017 and 2020.
Slocombe, of Duxford Court, Poulton-with-Fearnhead, admitted three counts of sexual assault by penetration.
Cheshire Police said his actions had a "profound and long lasting impact" on the women, who struggled to come to terms with what happened.
Cheshire Police is yet to release a mugshot of Slocombe.
Melissa Wilson

Melissa Wilson used library computers to search for "Harry Potter erotica" and "fetish sites" focusing on children in their underwear.
The paedophile, whose name was given in court listings as Paul Wilson aka Melissa Wilson, managed to bypass security systems at Liverpool Central Library and Toxteth Library.
After creating library accounts the 34-year-old would attend "almost every other day" and used a Russian search engine "associated with accessing illegal files".
She later confessed to the crimes, between July 10 and October 23 in 2019 on 86 days, in a letter from her alter ego, Dan Thompson.
Wilson admitted breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
She has six previous convictions for 39 offences and has been jailed repeatedly for possessing indecent images of children and breaching court orders.
Wilson was jailed for two years and eight months.
Colin Robinson

Colin Robinson engaged in filthy online conversations with a 13-year-old girl hoping they could meet up.
The 75-year-old encouraged the child to bunk off school, sent her an indecent video of himself, and said he wanted to seduce her.
When told she lived in Manchester, he replied: "You are now in big trouble, it's just down the M57."
But unknown to the Wirral grandad he was actually chatting with an undercover officer going by the name of Lucy, posing as the school girl, in September 2019.
The retired Cammell Lairds worker, of Borough Road, Seacombe, admitted five offences involving attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act, attempting to incite a child to engage in a sexual act, and attempted sexual communication.
He was jailed for two years.
Trevor Smith
"Sweating" and naked pervert Trevor Smith ogled a group of teens from his balcony as he performed a sex act on himself.
A horrified onlooker witnessed the 50-year-old performing the sex act while looking at a group of around nine teenagers.
She said she "felt physically sick" and called police, who discovered him "sweating profusely" and "out of breath" as porn played on his mobile phone.
The disgusted onlooker lived in an adjacent apartment block and had been alerted to a noise in the street at about 9.50pm on March 18 this year.
Smith, who also had a bag of cannabis in his flat, has previous convictions for outraging public decency, including misbehaving with a cleaner's cone, for which he received a suspended sentence in 2019.
The sexual deviant, of Hall Street, St Helens, admitted possessing cannabis, exposure and breaching a suspended sentence order.
He was jailed for 10 months.
Kamil Lesiak

Kamil Lesiak was part of a monstrous gang who kidnapped, tortured and raped another man.
He was the last of the group to be jailed after forcing the victim to commit depraved sex acts in a 10-hour attack.
The 27-year-old man was kidnapped in Bootle in November 2015 and kept against his will at a house in Simons Croft, Netherton.
Lesiak and Daniel Misiolek, who was jailed for life with a minimum of nine years in 2016, subjected him to a series of physical and sexual assaults.
Around 90 minutes of his horrifying ordeal were filmed by Misiolek's girlfriend, Awna Baszak, before he finally escaped when the gang left the house.
The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was initially attacked at a home in Bootle - days after another one of the gang, Dagmara Szary "appeared to have taken offence" to mobile phone photos she claimed to have seen.
Lesiak, 25, of no fixed address, was found guilty of false imprisonment, assault causing actual bodily harm, rape and causing a man to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
He was jailed for 18 years.
Dylan King
Paedophile Dylan King was caught living with a mum and children who had no idea of his sinister past.
King was convicted of sexual activity with a child in 2012, when he was jailed for two years and three months, and told to sign the Sex Offenders Register.
But he has repeatedly breached his notification requirements by failing to inform police of his address and last year "disappeared" for several months.
He was eventually found living with a woman and her children in Teesside, after meeting her on a dating app, and not disclosing he was a sex offender.
King, of Grey Road, Walton, was sentenced over that breach last June, but fell to be sentenced for a previous breach, committed in February 2020, when he moved without telling police his new address.
He admitted failing to comply with his notification requirements and was jailed for 12 months.
Michael Collins

An obsessed man who sexually abused a schoolgirl threatened to throw acid in her face and stab her.
Michael Collins, 35, had only recently been released from prison when he started talking to the 15-year-old from Newton-le-Willows via Facebook.
They began what was described in court as a "consensual" sexual relationship, but Collins, of no fixed address, threatened to throw acid in her face and to stab her outside her school after becoming possessive.
Collins had sex with the girl while she was in her school uniform, after first meeting her at Hunts Cross station.
The abuse came to light last November, after she confided in a teaching mentor that she had slept with a man, who was now being aggressive.
She said they would drink vodka and take cocaine and she performed a sex act on him, but things became difficult when he was "off his head".
Defence lawyers claimed the pair had a "loving caring relationship", which was accepted by the prosecution and the judge.
Collins admitted six offences involving sexual activity with a child, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was jailed for five years.
Brandon Broome
Brandon Broome subjected a woman to a violent sexual assault in which he spat in her face and groped her and "foamed at the mouth".
The 20-year-old, of Avondale Drive, Widnes, sobbed as his victim appeared in person to read a statement on the trauma she endured.
When she said she was going to the police after his attack, he threatened her and kept her detained for around four hours at a property in Widnes.
After saying he would let her go in exchange for a hug, "the animal" leaned in and spat in her face - but the victim was eventually able to escape.
Broome, who admitted criminal damage, was convicted after a trial of sexual assault. His past convictions include assaults and harassment.
He was locked up for three years, but Cheshire Police have not released Broome's mugshot.
Shakur Valentino

Shakur Valentino took a teenage woman's knickers as a "trophy" after trying to rape her.
He put his hand over the mouth of the 18-year-old victim "to silence her protests" as she screamed for help, only for a friend to intervene.
But after he was arrested, he was released by police under investigation and just weeks later raped a gran near London's Piccadilly Circus.
Valentino was previously jailed for 12 years, with an extended five years on licence, for raping that woman, who was in her 60s, in February 2019.
This week he was hit with a further five and a half years in jail, with an extended two years, for the attempted rape of his first victim in December 2018.
Judge Louise Brandon said "a disturbing feature" of both cases was he "took trophies in the form of items as a reminder of your offending".
After kidnapping and raping the gran in an alleyway he took her leggings and after trying to rape the teenager in St Helens he kept her underwear.
Valentino, 23, from St Helens, denied raping the teen, but on the day she was due to give pre-recorded evidence for a trial, admitted attempted rape.
Barry Warner

Barry Warner sent vile sexual messages to a 13-year-old girl and then accused her of lying when she reported him.
The 51-year-old started chatting to the girl but when it became clear the messages were becoming inappropriate, she drew him in just enough to ensure he incriminated herself.
Warner, of Bedford Road, Birkdale, then panicked - first accusing the girl of lying, then saying it was just a bit of fun, and pleading with her to delete the messages.
The girl showed the messages to her mum, who reported Warner to police.
At first Warner tried to deny everything to officers, claiming it was "bulls***" and that he thought he was chatting to the girl's mum.
But his excuses soon collapsed when it was clear from the messages he knew exactly how old the girl was.
He admitted engaging in sexual communication with a child and was jailed for 12 months.
