Touching birthday messages have poured in for a young Everton fan who was beaten to death last summer.
Duncan Browne, 23, was attacked by two 'career criminals' on Hanover Street after a dispute over a taxi. Thug Michael McLoughlin punched Duncan to the ground.
Duncan had gone into Liverpool city centre with friends to enjoy England's Euro 2020 quarter final win over Ukraine. Duncan, an Everton fan, suffered catastrophic injuries and died in hospital on July 5 last year, surrounded by his family.

Since the ECHO published the story , Liverpool has united to mark his 24th birthday with touching messages on social media.
Vinni Walsh said: “This place is cruel and quite heart breaking at times, I hope you’re in a better place. From a Red.” Diane Taylor added: “His death has devastated members of my family who will never get over his loss.”
Karen Margaret Woodray posted: “RIP Duncan, thinking of Cathy, Colin, Shea, all the Browne family and the Shannon family.” George N Eileen Roberts said: “Did not know you but heard so many good things about you.”
Dozens of people left blue hearts on the ECHO’s post which represented his boyhood club Everton. On 3rd July 2021 Duncan went out to watch England against Ukraine in the quarter-finals of the Euro’s.
After the game he was separated from his friends and made his way to the taxi rank on Hanover Street. He got into an argument over a taxi with “two career criminals” and was punched to the ground by them.
Thug Michael McLouglin was jailed for nine years and four months while his mate Terrence Kermin, who threw the first punch, was handed a 10-month prison sentence. Prosecutors later accepted McLoughlin's plea of manslaughter and Kerwin's plea to assault causing actual bodily harm.
Families Fighting for Justice is a peer support group for families bereaved by homicide.
It runs The Hub, in Anson Street, off Prescot Street near the Royal Liverpool Hospital, which is a drop in centre with information and support under one roof.
