Facebook Small Business Challenge: What it is and how to get involved

People across the UK are taking part in an online challenge that helps promote their small business.

The Facebook Small Business Challenge has proven to be a popular hit with social media users looking to promote their products.

Starting a business is a big achievement for many entrepreneurs, but maintaining one is the larger challenge.

Even more so for small businesses following the outbreak of Covid.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on the local and national economy with many small companies facing an uncertain future.

The trend which has been devised through the use of social media and Facebook aims to combat that.

So far over 130,000 Facebook users have taken on the challenge in the hope they can promote their small business for free and reach a wider audience.

The Small Business Challenge works by people posting five pictures of their products to a Facebook group or via their timeline with the hashtag #smallbusinesschallenge.

No links back to a website or alternative social media page are permitted with the idea behind the trend to make the posts as shareable as possible.

Anyone who is interested in a particular product can then ask for further details once the post has been shared.

The challenge has proven extremely popular and the following should be included in a post in order for it to work:

“#smallbusinesschallenge

“I hear this trend is working wonders for small businesses, so here goes...

“NO LINKS, just 5 pictures of your products. Anyone who is interested can then ask for your link.”

“Let’s make 2021 the best year to grow.”
