Some Scots have been reportedly unable to access a number of Facebook apps this evening.
Thousands of people across the UK reported issues in accessing the Facebook website and app from around 7pm on Wednesday, according to DownDetector.
Users have also reported issues in sending messages over the Messenger service at around the same time.
Instagram, which is owned by Facebook’s parent company Meta, also appears to have been struck down with outages.
A number of people claim that they have been unable to access the app at around the same time.
The bulk of the issues appeared to come just before 7pm this evening, with almost 4,000 people reporting outages on DownDetector at that time.
It is unclear if the reported system issues have been resolved yet. However, the number of problems reported appears to have plummeted in the last hour.
A spokesperson for Meta said: “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Messenger, Workplace Chat and Instagram DMs.
“We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
