Social media users across the globe have tonight (Wednesday) experienced issues using Facebook, Messenger and Instagram.
People have reported problems accessing the apps and are struggling to contact people over Messenger.
Website Downdetector.co.uk shows a number of issues have been logged in regards to each of the sites.
Meanwhile, #facebookdown has started trending on Twitter.

It's not clear at this stage what has caused the issues and when they will be up and running again.
The problems appear to be intermittent and not a complete outage.
Facebook are yet to provide any comment.
UPDATE: Many of the issues appear to have been resolved now, with a company spokesperson advising: “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Messenger, Workplace Chat and Instagram DMs.
"We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
