Facebook live streamer films himself goading homeless man into fatal backflip attempt

A Facebook live streamer goaded a man into attempting a backflip which led to his death.

Keonte Jones, 28, told his audience on the social media website that he had offered Larry Coner $6 (£4.78) to do a backflip.

The 55-year-old man could be seen on the video landing two cartwheels before attempting the move.

Mr Coner lands on his neck and lies motionless for minutes while Jones and a group of bystanders burst into laughter.

Ten days later on June 30 he died of spinal injuries at University Medical Centre in Las Vegas.

On Tuesday Jones was arrested and charged with one count of wilful disregard of a person's safety, Las Vegas Sun reported.

On Wednesday Metro Police published a ten minute video of the incident.

In it Jones stands behind the camera holds a fist full of dollar bills in front of the lens.

He laughs in a high pitched voice as Mr Coner attempts the cartwheels.

Then the older man throws himself backwards and lands on his head.

Jones shouts "He sleep! He sleep!" while Mr Coner lies on the floor.

"He hit a backflip and went to sleep," he roars.

Jones then stands above Mr Coner and says "here, here , take your $6".

At the end of the video a woman tries to help the incapacitated man before calling 911.

A fundraising page has been set up by Mr Coner's sister Coressia Williams to give him a good send off.

On it she wrote: "My brother LARRY was assisted to his own demise!

"Since the passing of my mother 2018 Larry’s mental illness worsened to a point he didn’t know when people meant him harm."

She added: "Larry was just getting out of the hospital, walking home, minding his own business.

"A group of people told him to do flips for food.

"He broke his neck, had surgery and passed away on his mother’s birthday."
