A man in Chicago has apparently filmed the moment he was shot while live streaming a video to Facebook on Thursday afternoon.
The 31-year-old victim, who is now in critical condition, was posting the video directly to Facebook from the city’s west side.
Police are still working to authentic the video, but the scene shown is consistent with events that were reported at the same location, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Chicago has one of the highest rates of gun violence in the country, with 2016 being particularly deadly.
Within the first three months of this year, the city has had the highest homicide rate in nearly two decades. And as of Wednesday, March 30, at least 727 people had been shot – a 73 per cent increase from the same time last year, according to the Tribune.
