Facebook is tracking everywhere you go unless you opt out

With so many different functions, it's easy to see why Facebook remains the most popular social networking app in 2021.

With billions of us actively using Facebook, the social networking giant is able to find out a lot about us - including where we've been.

A map, hidden deep within your profile, has GPS co-ordinates of places you have visited.

While this information could come in handy, many people probably don't want their whereabouts to be tracked.

The good news is that you can turn off the setting on the Facebook app and, if you want, have your entire location history deleted.

How to find your location history

Open up the Facebook app on your iPhone or Android device and tap the menu button.

Open the Settings & Privacy option and go to the Privacy Shortcuts option.

Tap on the Manage your location settings option.

If you then tap on the Location history open, it should then prompt you to 'See Location History'. Pressing this should open a map.

You can see which GPS co-ordinates the app has tracked each day, and it goes back for a number of years.

If you want to delete your location history, open it up and then tap the ‘More’ option then select either ‘Delete this day’ or ‘Delete all Location history.
