Update: After Instagram and Facebook both faced a global outage last night, it looks like Facebook is still having some issues.
At 10pm GMT last night, Instagram tweeted that its team was hard at work to solve the problems.
Two hours later, harmony appeared to have been restored on the platforms.
However, Facebook is currently grappling with what has been called the worst outage in its 15-year history.

For anyone looking to wind down from work and scroll through Instagram and Facebook, then we have some bad news: the social apps appear to be down across the globe.
According to the website DownDetector, the problems started around 4pm (GMT) and appears to be affecting pretty much everyone.
Instagram users in Indonesia, Toronto, and India are reporting having issues with the platform.
Around 54 per cent of people are reporting issues with the news feed, whilst others they can’t log in or access the website.
Over on Facebook, the problems appear to have started around 4pm (GMT) too. Users have reported they are experiencing a total blackout on the site, whilst others are saying there are issues with the newsfeed and log in process.
WhatsApp is the other social platform that Facebook owns, but it looks like everything is functioning normally there right now.
Some people are managing to see the funny side to the major platforms being offline at the moment.
There’s no word yet from Facebook as to why the outages are occurring.
