Face of woman who told man 'you smell of curry' in racist rant on London bus

Police have pictured a young woman who is accused of hurling racist abuse at a man in front of shocked passengers on a packed bus.

Footage shows a woman, wearing a hijab, screaming at a man, who appears to be of Indian descent, telling him: "You smell of curry, you dumb b***h, go back to your f***ing Southall slum."

Stunned passengers watch as the woman threatens to hit the man onboard the 195 bus in Hayes, west London.

in the video, she is held back by a woman, believed to be her mother, as she screams: “No, let me hit."

The man can be heard taunting the woman, telling her that the bus passengers agree with him.

He says: “Ooh, everyone’s on my side."

But the woman replies: “OK, bye b***h. Go back to your your f***ingg Southall slum."

Police have released an image of the suspect and appealed for the public's help to identify her.

The incident took place on a bus from Romney Road in Brentford towards Hayes town on September 14.

A passenger who filmed the rant claimed the fight erupted after the woman's mother had an argument with the bus driver.

The mother told the driver that the bus was overcrowded and that he was letting too many people on the vehicle, the passenger said.

According to a witness, an ‘Indian’ male passenger in his twenties became annoyed with the disruption caused to the bus journey.

He shouted at the woman’s mother to stop arguing with the driver and let the bus move.

The woman then launched the shocking rant at the man, according to the witness.

In the video, speechless passengers, including children, watch as the woman screams at the man.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Officers from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) are appealing for witnesses after a man was racially abused on a bus.

"The investigation was launched after a video of the incident circulated on social media, and was reported in the press.

"The video shows a woman arguing with a man, and using racist language.

"The incident is believed to have happened on a 195 in the Hayes area of Hillingdon borough, on Saturday, 14 September.

"Officers want witnesses to the incident, or anyone who can provide information about the people involved to come forward.

"Initial enquiries have been made with the bus company.

"If you have any information about the incident, please call 101 quoting 0921546/19, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
