Face of woman who stabbed a house guest in the back

Police have released the image of a woman who stabbed her victim in the back as she tried to leave a home in Nottingham.

Alison Harris, 50, of Heathfield Road, Basford, had been drinking heavily into the early hours of Saturday, October 15, 2019, when she stabbed a woman in the arm and upper back, causing significant bleeding.

Officers were called to Heathfield Road when the victim texted her friend to ask for help, stating she had been stabbed when she tried to leave the property.

Harris answered the door when police arrived with blood on her clothes and was arrested.

Harris was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years, at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, December 10.

She previously pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm when she appeared in court on November 14, 2019. The victim has since made a full recovery.

Detective Constable Benjamin Hensell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Stabbing someone in the back near the neck, could have had fatal consequences and we acted quickly to establish the circumstances around the case.

“Hopefully the sentence will give some closure to the victim.

“Knife crime has a devastating impact on people’s lives and we are committed to ensuring that all reports made to Nottinghamshire Police are investigated thoroughly as a result.

“If you, a family member, or a friend are victim of knife crime, please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 999 in an emergency.”
