Face of man who threatened woman with knife in Bestwood

A man who threatened a woman with a knife following a disturbance in Bestwood has been locked up.

Tyler Samuels, 19, of Caunton Avenue, St Ann’s, was arrested on April 14.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to a flat in Pedmore Valley in Bestwood following reports of two women fighting.

When police arrived and resolved the situation between the women, it was reported that Samuels had threatened one of them at knifepoint before fleeing the scene on foot.

Officers then searched the area to find Samuels and, after a brief foot chase, caught and arrested him.

Samuels pleaded guilty to affray and possession of a bladed article as well as assault by beating in connection with the incident.

He was locked up for 15 months having appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, May 6.

Police Constable Dan Abey, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our officers did a fantastic job to quickly apprehend and charge Samuels.

“Knife crime is incredibly serious and we are committed to investigating all reports made to us thoroughly.

“If you ever see anything suspicious or are a victim of knife crime, please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or in an emergency, dial 999.”
