Face of man who stole nurse's laptop and bank cards

A man who stole a key worker's laptop and bank cards has been locked up.

Gareth Gilson, 37, of Minver Crescent, Aspley, was arrested after police were called to Wootton Close, Bilborough on Tuesday March 31 when a district nurse’s car was reported to have been broken in to.

Gilson pleaded guilty to taking a laptop and bank cards from the car, as well as using the cards to purchase items from shops across the county.

He was jailed for 16 weeks on Friday April 3 for theft and fraud by false representation.

Inspector Gordon Fenwick, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are living in an unprecedented time and NHS staff are providing vital services for the people in city and county.

“To think that someone would steal from someone who is putting themselves at risk every day in order to protect our residents is sickening.

“Our officers acted quickly to make an arrest as part of this investigation and I am pleased with a swift result.”
