Face masks, social distancing and staggered disembarking - this is what a British Airways flight from Manchester to London looks like now

These images show what the future of flying looks like.

Face masks, social distancing and staggered disembarking have all been put in place on board British Airways' first flight from Manchester Airport to London.

After opening Terminal 3 on July 1 and with the impending reopening of Terminal 2 on July 15, there have been a lot of changes made to the way we travel in the sky.

The M.E.N. reported on Manchester Airport opening earlier this week, where passengers saw a stark change in safety precautions in a bid to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

This included perspex screens, masks and hand sanitiser bottles, as well as cleaners in hazmat suits and thermal imaging cameras which have been installed at the security gates to check passenger's temperatures.

These images of the first flight from British Airways out of the airport provide an insight into how differently we will all be travelling in the days to come.

All passengers are required to wear face masks at all times on board the aircraft and in the airport.

Social distancing is in place, staff will help to encourage passengers to sit 2m apart.

There is also separate boarding and disembarking times, again to avoid contamination.

Either way, from what these pictures show, it's clear the 'new normal' will take some getting used to.
