Face mask rules on public transport services like Bus Eireann, Dublin Bus and Irish Rail

The Government is recommending the wearing of face masks on public transport as Ireland moves towards reopening.

Covering your face is not mandatory and there is no punishment for not doing so but NPHET and the Department of Health have laid out clear guidelines.

And with public transport getting back to normal it is important to know the rules before you head onto buses and trains.

Here's what each public transport company in Ireland has said about the wearing of face masks.
