Fabricio Bruno to Celtic latest as wantaway £3m defender pulls out all the stops to seal transfer exit

Wantaway Fabricio Bruno has pleaded with the Brazilian courts to rip up his contract with Cruzeiro as he seeks to seal a move to Celtic.

The Brazilian defender has gone to court in Belo Horizonte in a bid to make his contract null and void because he claims the financially stricken club didn't pay his wages over a six-month period.

He also wants Cruzerio to pay him £2million he claims he's owed and to rip up his contract with immediate effect.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed his interest in Bruno, but has made clear they won't pay over the odds.

But Bruno has stepped up his efforts to be become a free agent and secure his escape from the recently relegated side.

His lawyer, Joao Chiminazzo, has demanded the contract is annulled by stating: "There is no prospect of matters improving in Cruzeiro and no prospect of the late salary arriving.

"This is a club remember who cannot even afford to pay their cooks at the moment.

"The situation of the club is that there is no chance of payment of wage arrears.

"The debt will only increase with the complainant, Fabricio Bruno, unable to get a get a new job until this situation is resolved."

The Premiership champions have also been strongly linked with a move for Slovan Bratislava striker Andraz Sporar .
