Fabricio Bruno suffers Celtic transfer blow as Cruzeiro defender's future takes fresh twist

Wantaway Fabricio Bruno has lost his court case in his bid to rip up his contract with Brazilian side Cruzeiro.

The Celtic target, who is valued in the £3-£5m range, took his club to court in Belo Horizonte in a bid to make his contract null and void because he claims the newly-relegated club didn't pay him wages from May to November and his agreed image rights weren't paid either.

He also wants Cruzerio to pay him £2million he claims he's owed and to rip up his contract.

However, the 23-year-old's hopes of walking away for nothing have suffered a huge blow after courts threw out his case.

Judge Fernando Luiz Goncalves Rios Neto ruled in Cruzeiro's favour because Bruno 'Did not maintain personal contact with this the court, which is a requirement.'

And there were inconsistencies with the process in Brazilian law which meant there was no option, but to reject the claim.

But Bruno is expected to appeal the decision and has until January 6 to make up his mind whether to go back to court.

Celtic are also keen on Slovan Braitislava striker Andraz Sporar with Neil Lennon confirming talks have taken place over a potential deal for the Slovenia international.
